Exchanging Currency

Thai Baht and US Dollars are widely accepted and exchanged, most other currencies are normally not recognised.

Credit and debit cards

Accepted in most upmarket hotels and restaurants catering to visitors but check before.

Travellers Cheques

Travellers cheques are not recommended. US dollars travellers cheques can be changed at the official rate at the Foreign Trade Bank in Phnom Penh.

Currency restrictions

The import and export of local currency (Riel) is prohibited. Foreign currency can be taken out of the country up to the limit declared at customs on arrival. When entering Cambodia amounts over US$10,000 must be declared.

Banking Hours

Monday-Friday 8.00 am - 3.30 pm. A small number of banks are open on Saturdays.
