Tourism in Korea (Dem Rep) is presently allowed only for officially organised groups of minimum 1 person. Travellers can obtain Visas through officially recognised travel companies or the nearest Korea (Dem Rep) embassy.


All visitors must have valid passports, including nationals of Korea (Dem Rep).

Consular section of the General Delegation of the DPRK or of the nearest Korean (Dem Rep) Embassy. Applications should be made by an officially recognised tour operator.

Application requirements

1. Valid passport.

2. One passport-size photo.

3. One completed application form.

4. Tour confirmation from recognised travel company.

5. Proof of sufficient funds to cover stay.

6. Copy of applicant’s passport.

Working days required

About 20 days.


Registration with the MFA is required for stays of over 24 hours, even though most travel agents and hotels will normally do this for the visitor. Visitors are advised to contact the nearest embassy prior to departure for details.
