Most holidays are scheduled
using Islamic lunar calendar and the dates are different from year
to year.
The foremost religious event is Ramadan (known as rorda
mas), the Islamic month of fasting.
Other important events are Kuda Id, the sighting of the new
moon which is celebrated at the end of Ramadan, and the Prophet's
Birthday, which honours the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed.
