This restaurant is located in a quiet Soi just off the busy Silom Road. This music café is in a contemporary area with stools and tables downstairs and a plainly designed restaurant upstairs. The Barbican offers tapas snacks and Thai food, as well as a roast chicken breast rolled with aubergine and served with saffron sauce. A fine 3-course set lunch is available at B245. Lunch is not provided at the weekend.

This excellent restaurant, situated in the Peninsula Hotel, is an ideal place to dine with fun decor overlooking the stunning Chao Phraya River. It features over 2 levels with great music and lighting. It serves up an eclectic mix of Pacific Rim food, such as tikka marinated rack of lamb with madras-style potatoes and mint chutney. 12-year old children or under are not allowed. Only dinner is provided.

Joke Club Restaurant & Bar

It is 1 of the restaurants to see and be seen in Bangkok, frequently visited by Thai royalty, politicians and famous performers as well as Hollywood stars. The Joke Club Restaurant & Bar is located just off the lively Sukhumvit Road and designed in a Hong Kong style, offering Chinese and Cantonese cuisine cooked in an open kitchen. It is renowned for its congee, white rice porridge served with various meats and vegetables (all 46 varieties), and dried abalone, at a fraction of Hong Kong prices. A 9-course set meal ranges from B350 to B1,680 per person for groups of 10 people or more.

Marmalade is a newer arrival on the Bangkok scene which is creating waves. The design of this restaurant reflects its name, with a fashionable orange complemented by black sculptures. It provides great food, such as the fried mackerel with a sweet and hot topping, and loud music making it ideal for those who feel young at heart.

This contemporary chic restaurant is a converted Thai house, located in Sukhumvit area. Live music is provided on the ground floor which is loud and buzzing, while upstairs is more relaxing with pleasant seating. The Zanzibar serves up Italian and Thai food which include superb pizza and seared beef with parmesan and baby spiach. Lunch is not provided.
