Shopping
A wide variety of goods, including Australian
arts and crafts, is available from specialist shops and department
stores. Galleries and museums are somtimes open outside normal
trading hours.
The shop opening hours for most shops in the
city are Monday to Wednesday 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, Friday 9.00 am
to 9.00 pm and Saturday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Nightlife
Despite the daytime neatness, nightlife
is actively promoted by the large range
of restaurants, nightclubs, pubs, acoustic venues and jazz, piano
and wine bars. There are many film shows and also a boutique casino.
