Pros:
Belgium waffle, with ice cream, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream.
Cons: none
So Brussels seems like a cool town, but we've only been here for
less than 24 hours. Bad thing is, I think we are done. We got in
late last night, checked in, and went to bed. This morning we woke
up, saw the Grand Place square, saw the Mannekin Pis, and wandered
for a bit. We plan on going out tonight, getting dinner, and heading
to Amsterdam in the morning.
For those of you who don't know what the Mannekin Pis is, it is
a statue of a little boy peeing. Our travel book talked it up and
friends told us it was funny, so we were looking forward to this
big elaborate statue. Ends up being about 12 inches tall, max. (Tall,
not long).
After the peeing, we wandered on to find Haagen Daaz and treated
ourselves to a Belgium waffle, with ice cream, chocolate sauce,
and whipped cream. It was amazing. Possibly the best meal of the
trip.
So aside from that minor amusement, we are relaxing today. I am
unloading my digital camera, replying to e-mails, booking hostels,
and paying bills.
