Note

Some extra dates in 2007 are to be confirmed.

Festivals in Iran are scheduled depending on local sightings of various phases of the moon and the dates given above are estimations. During the lunar month of Ramadan that precedes Eid al-Fitr, Muslims fast in the daytime and feast during the night and normal business patterns can be discontinued.

A number of eating places are closed in the daytime and there may be restrictions on drinking and smoking. Some disruption may continue into Eid al-Fitr itself. Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha may last anything from 2 to 10 days, relying on the region.
