Internet

There are no ISP's in Iraq at the moment. However, although internet access within the home is rare, Internet access is sprouting everywhere in cafes and hotels, mostly in Baghdad.

Telegrams

Telegrams can be sent from the telegraph office next to the post office in Rashid Street and some major hotels.

Telephones

  International Direct Dialling service is available, however services were severely disrupted following the conflict and only gradually returning.

  The Iraq country code is 964.

  The Outgoing international code is 00.

Mobile telephones

 There is extremely limited coverage in Iraq.

  GSM 900 operates through Asia Cell, Atheer, Iraqna and SanaTel.

All mail may take numerous weeks to process and is not recommended.

Newspapers published in Arabic include Al-Mu'tamar, Al-Mannarah and Tariq ash-Shaab. Periodicals are also published. The major English language daily is the As-Sabah (Morning).

Radio

BBC World Service and Voice of America can be received. From time to time the frequencies change and the most up to date can be found online.
