Water
Sports
Fishing, sailing, swimming, surfing, water skiing and yachting are
all available in Israel. There are marinas in Eilat,
Akko, Jaffa and Tel Aviv, and all the big hotels have swimming pools.

Skindiving and aqualung diving are particularly
popular in Eilat on the Red Sea coast with a brilliant underwater
observatory descending to the floor of the coral reef near the town.
Eilat is a predominantly good destination for winter sun for visitors
from Western Europe.
Please note that the Red Sea coastline has been designated a preservation
area and any tourists found with souvenirs such as coral will endure
severe fines from both the Israeli and Egyptian authorities.
Other
At Mount Hermon, which is on the northern border, there is a full
skiing season. Among yearly sports events are the
Tel Aviv Marathon and the Kinereth Swimming Gala.
Basketball and football are popular and many hotels have tennis
courts.
There is a top quality 18 hole golf course at Caesarea.
Horseriding is available throughout Israel, there is also the opportunity
to take camel rides, please contact the Israel Government Tourist

Cycling is additionally popular. There are brilliant
facilities at kibbutz sportsgrounds and in cities. The Israel Government
