Mains water is generally chlorinated and, whilst relatively safe, may cause mild abdominal upsets. Bottled water is accessible. Dairyproducts are safe for consumption and milk is pasteurised. Local meat, seafood, poultry, fruit and vegetables are generally considered safe to eat.
Other risks
Hepatitis A occurs in Jamaica. There is a high prevalence of HIV / AIDS and precautions should be carried out to avoid exposure.
