Jersey has its own currency but all UK notes and coins are legal tender, and circulate with the Channel Islands issue.

Pound Sterling (£) = 100 pence.

Notes are in denominations of £50, 20, 10 and 1. Coins are in denominations of 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 pence.

Currency exchange

Foreign currencies can be exchanged at bureaux de change, in banks and at hotels and ATMs.

Credit & debit cards

American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa are all widely accepted. Check with your credit or debit card company for details of merchant acceptability and other services.

Travellers cheques

Widely accepted.

Currency restrictions

There are no restrictions on the import or export of either local or foreign currency.
