Passport

Passports, valid for at least 6 months are required by everyone.

Visa

Visas are required by all except nationals of:
 
    Bahrain
  Qatar
  Iraq
  Egypt
  Kuwait
  Oman
  Syrian Arab Republic
  Yemen
  Saudi Arabia
  United Arab Emirates
 
for maximum stays of 1 month (extensions may be obtained at the nearest police station).

Transit passengers continuing their journey to another country by the same or 1st connecting aircraft within 24 hours do not require visas, provided they hold valid onward or return documentation and not leaving the airport.

Some nationalities may obtain a 7 day transit visa upon arrival if travelling from a neighbouring Arab country. Transit visas can only be issued at Jordanian airports / airlines, not at embassies or consulates.

Note

Nationals of certain countries, including all Western European countries, Australia, Japan, Canada, New Zealand and the United States of America, can obtain visas on arrival at the airport in Jordan.

Multiple entry visas can only be obtained at the nearest Embassy / Consulate.
 
Validity

Validity depends on nationality. For Australian, Canadian, United Kingdom and United States nationals, visas are valid as follows:

Tourist: 3 months for single entry, 6 months for multiple entry

Business: 3 months.

After the 1st 2 weeks of stay, all visitors holding a visa must report to the nearest police station.

A Visitor must have:
 
    A completed application form.
 
A passport valid for at least six months with at least 1 blank    page .
  1 recent passport sized photograph.
  Self addressed, stamped, recorded or registered envelope if    applying by post.

  Fee (only postal orders or cash are accepted).
  Self addressed, registered envelope if applying by post.

 
Business:
 
    All of which a visitor must have and a company letter which supports the application.

are required to seek approval from the Ministry of Interior in order to obtain a visa and therefore should allow 2 to 4 weeks for their applications to be processed. Please contact the Embassy for further information (see Contacts section).
