Visa
Visas are required by all except nationals of:
Bahrain Qatar Oman United Arab Emirates Saudi Arabia
for an unlimited period.
Note
Married women and children (except nationals of Iraq and Iran) may travel on the passport of their father or husband.
The cost of different types of visa
Business, Visitor and Transit. Transit visas are not required provided passengers acquire onward tickets and do not leave the airport. The fee for a visa can depend on the applicant’s nationality.
For United Kingdom nationals the fees are as follows: Single-entry: £30 (for three months); £48 (for six months). Multiple-entry: £66 (for six months); £75 (for one year); £96 (for two years); £135 (for five years).

Validity
Validity depends on nationality and purpose of visit. Validity of the visa is usually 3 months from date of issue. Please enquire at Consulate (or Consular section at Embassy) for further information.

Application requirements
A Visitor must have:
A completed application form (preferably typed) and signed. A valid passport. 1 passport sized photograph. Confirmation of an invitation from a sponsor or contact in Kuwait, this should be faxed directly to the Embassy, please see Addresses - Contacts section for fax numbers (not required for visa on arrival, please see above). A covering letter from employer in home country detailing evidence of position and status within company, purpose of visit and length of stay. Self addressed, registered envelope if applying by post.
Note
Nationals of Andorra, Australia, Brunei, Canada, and China (PR) can now obtain visas for entry into Kuwait upon arrival at the port of entry. Nationals of the EU can also obtain visas for entry into Kuwait upon arrival, except from nationals of the following countries:

Temporary residence
Please enquire at Embassy. Note that United Kingdom nationals who wish to take up employment will eventually require a ResidencePermit. This must be obtained before arrival in Kuwait as it is not possible to transfer status from ‘visitor’ to ‘temporary resident’ without 1st leaving Kuwait
