Inflation in Romania
has slowed down from its 100%+ statistics of the 1990s. However,
since 2000, it has been slowing significantly, and in July this
year (2005), New Lei were introduced to replace the old currency
(Lei). All prices have been given in US Dollars in this guide, to
make them more realistic. However, payments are made in New Lei.
1 Romanian New Lei (Lei1) = US$ 0.43, £ 0.21,
C$ 0.41, A$ 0.47, R 2.83, € 0.30
