Kenting National
Park is a famous forest recreation area featuring
excellent beaches, a bird sanctuary, coral lakes, and more currently,
water sports and golf facilities, all set within lush coastal forest.
Kaohsiung is the major industrial
centre and has the island's only other major airport, apart
from Taipei's Chiang Kai-shek airport.
Tainan,
the oldest city on the island, is identified as
the 'City of 100 Temples'; there are in fact 220,
amongst them, some of the finest examples of Confucian temple
architecture on the island |
