Diving
It is the closest and most easy accessible diving destination from
Bangkok. Though Pattaya may not be
fascinating enough for most skilled
divers, it is an ideal location for novices.
A number of scuba diving shops are easily found in Pattaya which provide PADI
or NAUI certificate courses and competitive prices.
Interesting sites include Ko Lan, Ko
Sak and Ko Khrok. There are also one-day and half-day
excursions to these islands at inexpensive prices.
For advanced divers, the outlying islands of Ko Man Wichai
and Ko Rin which have better visibility are worth
a trip. There are also some wrecks just off Pattaya's
coast, particularly The Bremen and The Hardeep. The Hardeep,
a 420-metre long ship sinking in 1942, is the most fascinating
dive site in this part of Thailand.
