Disco
Nightlife activities are varied here and these include lounges,
bars and nightclubs. Don't expect Bangkok or Pattaya, but you won't
miss excitement if that is what you are seeking. The open-air bars
are good for some talks; for pepping up for the big party later.
On Chaweng Beach Road, the Jazz Junction
is a perfect spot to have simple chats and enjoy your drinks. Its
gracefulness is improved by great cocktails, cool jazz, smooth grooves
and sunshine soul. The Thai style bar is open from
4.00 pm to 2.00 am.
You can go straight to The Club where you will
find different surroundings: warm candlelight's and electric jazz,
soul, funk, mellow grooves and an uncommon feeling of oneness with
the crowd. For those seeking some light entertainment, head for
the Christy Cabaret which is the island's own brand
of cabaret.
1 of the more popular discotheques is the Green Mango
and dancing starts at 10.00 pm and lasts until the early hours of
the morning. The large dance floor throbs with a crowd sweating
it out to the latest disco tunes. There is also an open space with
tables for you just a little further from the main dance floor.
The Reggae Pub in Chaweng
is popular with its logo of the face of Bob Marley. Reggae music
is played here and a live band leads you to some wild dancing.
The main party spot is Lamai Beach. Bauhaus
screens live sport events. The place is designed in a different
style on certain days and there is also a night for you to dance
to true-blue underground music. Cabaret
Cabaret shows are new on the island; however,
these attract more and more local people and foreign visitors. The
show is patterned over the musicals and features songs and dances
(with a combination of American and Chinese songs and classical
and modern Thai dances) spiced up with gags by popular comedy acts.
The charm of the players is likely the most interesting
part. They excite with their sparkling costumes, made to
complement the dazing production designs. Bring your entire family
and enjoy fantastic cabaret shows. Live
Music
At Secret Garden, the Beach Pub
has become 1 of South East Asia's main venues in the last 5 years.
Musicians, both pro and semi-pro have the opportunity to perform
on a marvelous beach together with other musicians from all corners
of the glob. |
