This
traditional trading ship has been converted into one
of the city's most unusual restaurants. Booking ahead
is still recommended. Excellent food and a great location
facing the Dubai skyline glimmering across the waters
of Dubai Creek.
This
restaurant opened in late 2001 and is popular with the
local ex pat community. The emphasis is on Rajasthani
cooking and decor consists of artifacts shipped in from
the region. The open kitchen is a nice touch, as are
the family booths upstairs. The good value menu features
starters such prawn bisque with fresh vegetables and
lentil soup, while main courses include chicken and
vegetarian kebabs and a wide range of spiced curries.
Alcohol is not served but the lassis is good, especially
one seasoned with salt.
This
funky, laid-back Noodle House serves light and tasty
food and is a good place to relax in a casual atmosphere.
Diners don't need table reservations and the seating
areas consist of long communal tables. Besides Asian
noodles you can also order spring rolls and more filling
dishes, such as sweet and sour chicken. Noodle House
is hard to beat if you are in search of a quick and
cheerful meal.

Venezia
Price:
Dh95, Wine: Dh65
Venezia
is one of the unique eateries in Dubai. Its all things
Venetian, with mock Venetian buildings, classical musicians
and real gondolas drifting around the indoor canal.
The cuisine on offer is not remarkable but the sheer
surreal atmosphere with patrons invited to pick their
own wine from their cellar makes it worth a visit.
