Major airlines

Direct flights are provided by the national carrier, British Airways (telephone: (0845) 773 377 or (0845) 779 9977), to Aberdeen, Belfast, Brussels and Paris.

Others include KLM, which have connections to Amsterdam, and British Midland subsidiary Bmibaby, serves Belfast, Edinburgh, Geneva, Glasgow, Jersey, Milan, Alicante, Faro and Malaga.

Air Wales connects Cardiff with Cork and Dublin, while low-cost airline Ryanair serves the Irish capital. A number of airlines fly seasonal charter services to mainland Europe and further afield.

There are no flights between London and Cardiff. London Heathrow is three hours away by rail and longer by road.

Driving directions


Cardiff Airport is 12 miles west of the city centre. From the South of England take the M4 to Junction 33, take the road south towards Barry, then take the A4226 west.

From the North take the M5 down to Junction 15, then take the M4 across the River Severn, to Junction 33.

Car parking

Short and long term parking is available at the airport, there is a courtesy shuttle bus from the long term car park to the terminal.

Car rental

Avis, Europcar and Hertz operate from the airport.

Public Transport

Road

Taxi : Cardiff Air Taxis (telephone: (01446) 710 693) (journey time is about 20-30 minutes).

Bus/Coach : Cardiff Bus (telephone: (029) 2066 6444; fax: (029) 2078 7742; email: enquiries@cardiffbus.com) runs airbus X91 hourly 06:30-18:30 Monday to Saturday (journey time about 35-40 minutes).

First Cymru's (telephone: (0845) 608 2608) X5 coach runs every two hours from Cardiff Airport to Cardiff coach station 08:45-21:35 on Sunday only.

Rail : The railway station is eight kilometres or five miles away, at Barry, with connections from Cardiff.

Airport facilities

Thomas Cook offers 24-hour banking and exchange services daily between May and October. ATM bank machines are available.
The airport has restaurants, cafe’s and pubs. Shops include duty-free

Conference and business facilities

An executive lounge in the departures lounge is available to certain passengers. Fax and photocopying are available at the information desk in the main terminal.

There are facilities for disabled passengers.

Airport hotels

There are no hotels located within the airport or surroundings. Note that Cardiff City Centre is only a 20 minute taxi ride away, so it is worth considering Cardiff hotels.
